The department is committed to the study of music as an important element of a truly excellent liberal arts education. A primary goal is to offer students—regardless of their major field of study and whatever their career goals might be—the opportunity and means to experience music emotionally and intellectually, at the highest possible level.
Faculty and Staff
Our faculty specialize in a wide range of music disciplines, including performance, musicology, conducting, music theory, and composition. Comprised of six full-time and 18 adjunct members, the faculty are professionally active regionally, nationally, and internationally.

Performance
A variety of ensembles provide opportunities for performance. While some ensembles require an audition, all are open to students regardless of major, and credit is available to those who enroll in Music 150-162.

Events
The campus and local community are welcome at music department concerts, which are free. Tickets are required and can be obtained through the Williams Center Box Office.
