Jazz Combo is a performance ensemble class that pursues the study and performance of jazz repertoire in an ensemble format.
Students develop interpretation and improvisational skills in jazz compositions and arrangements in a variety of jazz styles. The group plays songs like “Blue Bossa” by Kenny Dorham, “Good Bait” by Tadd Dameron, “Corcovado” by Antonio Carlos Jobim, “All Blues” by Miles Davis, and “Star Eyes” by Don Raye and Gene dePaul.
